At Mount Vernon Children’s House, we believe every child deserves a joyful, nurturing place to learn and grow. Our mission is to provide high-quality, age-appropriate care in a safe, enriched environment that reflects God’s love.
The early years are some of the most important years of life—by age five, a child’s brain has already developed more than 90% of its capacity! Because of this, the quality of care and instruction during these years is essential. That’s why we are committed to creating a fun, engaging, and meaningful learning experience for every child in our care. Children here learn through play, exploration, creativity, and discovery, all guided by our dedicated team of qualified early childhood professionals.

Our childcare facility is designed to provide a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where children can learn, play, and grow. Each classroom is thoughtfully arranged to support a child-led approach to learning, with age-appropriate materials that encourage exploration, creativity, and independence.
We maintain clean, well-organized classrooms and common areas, with daily sanitation practices to support the health and well-bring of all children. Our facility includes secure entry procedures, clearly defined classroom spaces, and areas that allow for both active play and quiet learning.
Children also enjoy access to outdoor play spaces that promote physical development, social interaction, and hands-on exploration. We strive to create an environment where families feel confident and children feel comfortable, supported, and excited to learn each day.

The safety and well-being of our children is our top priority. All staff members are trained in CPR and First Aid and complete required Virginia childcare trainings annually to remain up to date on best practices, safety procedures, and state regulations. Ongoing professional development ensures our team is prepared to provide a safe, supportive, and responsive environment for every child in our care.
